Inclusive Businesses

Inclusive Businesses (IB) are commercially viable private sector business lines deliberately designed to create scaled-up, innovative and systemic solutions to the relevant income and living standard problems for the poor and low-income people.

Emerging Rapidly

While companies who embraced Inclusive Business principles are emerging rapidlyimpact investors increasingly finance such firms, business associations advocate IB, and consulting firms and IB facilitators provide help on IB design and knowledge sharing, governments are designing strategies and programs to promote such investments.

Members of IBee were involved in preparing a landscape study on the request of SME Corp Malaysia to strategically promote Inclusive Business adoption. The study showed, that there are firms already operating within the IB framework, but there is tremendous potential to do much more. A realistic scenario showed a possible 2.38b MYR contribution to GDP with 400m MYR of investments generated by just 100 firms which would impact 600 000 people of the B40
